Internet Tools
These are small tools we wrote for our own use and left online for anyone to use.
Each one runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and keeps nothing. They cover the
three things we found ourselves looking up most often while building and
maintaining websites.
-
What's My IP - shows the public IP address your connection presents
to the internet, along with the information a web server can see from your browser.
Useful when setting up firewall rules, allow lists or remote access, or when
checking that a VPN is actually in use.
-
Password Generator - makes a random password of the length you choose
from lower case, upper case, numbers and symbols. Any group can be limited to a
single character for sites with awkward rules. The password is generated in your
browser and never leaves it.
-
SSL Certificate Checker - enter a domain and see who issued its
certificate, when it expires, the names it covers, the certificate chain and
whether browsers will trust it. Handy before a renewal date, or when a visitor
reports a certificate warning you cannot reproduce.
